The cities we live in are changing. And with them, our understanding of well-being, health, and quality of life.

The Campus Bio-Medico’s 3rd One Health Report, presented in the Sala della Regina of the Chamber of Deputies, paints a clear picture: 61% of Italians are satisfied with their place of residence, but only 1 in 4 is fully satisfied.

This figure prompts reflection on what truly makes acity livable today.

The Report proposes a paradigm shift: moving from simple redevelopment to urban regeneration, capable of integrating the environment, health, and community according to the One Health approach.

As the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, emphasized, it is essential to develop policies that connect people’s health, the environment, and social cohesion.

And, as highlighted by Carlo Tosti, President of Campus Bio-Medico University and the UCBM Polyclinic Foundation, and Domenico Mastrolitto, General Manager of Campus Bio-Medico SpA, the suburbs represent today’s most pressing challenge, but also the richest in opportunities for the future of our cities.

The direction is clear: to build polycentric, inclusive, and sustainable cities, where quality of life stems from a balance between services, relationships, and the environment.

Because health isn’t just treated in hospitals.

It’s built every day in the places where we live.
