Experimentation is based on electroceutics which aims to slow down the progression of the disease for patients with ALS, through non-invasive stimulation of the cerebral cortex, carried out at home. The pilot project was developed by the Research Unit of Neurology, Neurophysiology and Neurobiology coordinated by prof. Vincenzo Di Lazzaro of the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome together with the Italian Auxological Institute Irccs of Milan and with the support of the “Nicola Irti” Foundation.
