Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome hosted the final event of the Afya Moja project “Health Technology: from capacity building to capacity strengthening,” promoted by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) and coordinated by the University. The project aims to strengthen academic and scientific collaboration between Europe and Africa in the field of health technologies.
For Rocco Papalia, Rector of Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome: “The true value of an initiative like this lies in the opportunity to build relationships based on mutual respect, cooperation, and trust among people, even before institutions. Collaborating remotely is not enough: it is important to meet, listen, share experiences, and work together to create concrete opportunities for students, researchers, and the academic community.”
“Our goal, through our active involvement, is to support academic and scientific systems, leveraging skills, resources, and local characteristics, as well as fostering greater integration into global research networks. From this perspective, the new Agri Research and Teaching Center at Campus Bio-Medico represents a concrete example of how research, innovation, and sustainability can converge in an interdisciplinary ecosystem open to international collaboration, fostering experimentation, skill transfer, and the development of shared projects,” said Domenico Mastrolitto, General Manager of Campus Bio-Medico SpA.
“We are very satisfied with the results achieved by such a challenging and ambitious project, which have exceeded our wildest expectations, involving 31 African partners in a path of concrete collaboration and shared growth.”
Concludes Leandro Pecchia, Vice Rector for Research at Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome and Coordinator of the Afya Moja project.
