An international mission to Nairobi focused on innovation

An international mission to Nairobi focused on innovation, scientific cooperation, and the One Health approach saw Campus Bio-Medico take center stage in several exchanges with institutions, universities, and international partners.

During participation in the “AI Hub for Sustainable Development” Forum — which brought together international government organizations, startups, and investors to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in sustainable development across the African continent — key themes emerged around digital infrastructure, AI model development, and concrete applications in agriculture, health, energy, and social inclusion.

A context that also represents an important opportunity to gather emerging ideas, experiences, and solutions, with the goal of developing them further through research projects, academic collaborations, and applied experimentation, contributing to the creation of innovative models capable of generating real impact on local communities.

In the following days, during the “Advanced Course on One Health,” Campus Bio-Medico was involved in the activities of the Afya Moja project at Kenyatta University, with training sessions focused on applying the One Health approach in health, agricultural, and environmental contexts.

On this occasion, the Agri Research and Teaching Center was presented — Campus Bio-Medico’s new technological infrastructure: an interdisciplinary space for experimentation and collaboration where scientific research, technology, and sustainability converge to address some of the world’s greatest challenges, from food security to ecosystem protection and community health.

An agro-biotech hub conceived as a production and research center within an open-air laboratory, designed to enable students, researchers, and industrial partners to experiment, innovate, and transfer knowledge within a fully integrated One Health vision.

Participating in these international academic and institutional contexts means strengthening Campus Bio-Medico’s commitment to promoting the paradigm of integral sustainability and building knowledge-sharing and collaborative alliances capable of turning research and innovation into concrete benefits for communities and territories.

A journey in which scientific innovation, international cooperation, and education intertwine to jointly address the world’s greatest challenges and contribute to building a more sustainable and shared future.
